Cedrus libani (Europe)
Cedar of Lebanon is mid-brown in colour and durable, with a natural oiliness producing an intense incense-like fragrance, long recognised as a moth deterrent. This timber is ideal for making wardrobes and blanket chests.

Red Cedar, from the western seaboard of North America, is well known for its compelling aroma and warm red/brown colour. It is fairly soft and lightweight and has considerable resistance to exposure. Popular uses including outdoor cladding and battens.

Douglas Fir
Pseudotsuga menziesii (NW North America)
Also known as British Columbian or Oregon, Pine this is an exceptional softwood, being strong, hard wearing and attractive with a distinctive grain and rather darker than European Redwood. The timber is usually knot free and of good length and width. Douglas Fir has numerous uses: decorative flooring, staircases, furniture, external joinery and boat building are just a few examples.

Quebec Yellow Pine
Pinus Strobus (Eastern North America)
Also known as Eastern White Pine, Qubec Yellow Pine is the tallest conifer in Eastern Canada. Its wood is the least resinous of all pines. A very fast-growing tree, it can reach heights of 90 metres with diameters up to 250 centimetres. Although fast growing it has a very uniform texture and is often used for mouldings, cabinetwork, doors, windows, siding and panelling. Its wood is tender and ranges from creamy white to yellow. It is valued for its very fine tight grain and works exceptionally well.
