Tilia vulgaris (Europe)

 

Lime is off-white with a close even grain which retains fine detail, yet is mild enough to work easily by hand. A good smooth finish allows waxing, painting or gilding. Lime is also used by architectural and prototype model makers, antique restorers and makers of picture frames and musical instruments. Our log sawn planks can be converted to square edged and planed if required. We often have small blocks available in the office.
