Acer pseudoplatanus (British Isles)

Sycamore is of the same family as Maple and in many respects is similar, though usually rather whiter with a less pronounced grain and occasional pin knots. Chosen for furniture making, joinery and turning it is an attractive, pale and even grained wood finishing to a fine surface.
