Ochroma lagopus (Ecuador)

Well known as a model making wood, balsa must be the lightest in weight of all hardwoods and certainly the easiest to carve and shape. It is off-white and sometimes pinkish in colour with a fine grain. Our stocks are specially selected for colour and low density.
